Native American Art : URSHEL TAYLOR

Urshel Taylor-Pima Tribe Aboriginal art by Urshel Taylor of Ute/Pima descent, a member of the Pima Salt River Community Indian Tribe. Urshel took position teaching art at the Intermountain Intertribal School in Brigham City, Utah. In addition to his teaching duties, he was a Director of Cultural Affairs which included the Powwows. Through this he became more deeply involved in the traditional Native American dances which later influenced and added extra elements to his art. Presently, Urshel’s work reflects both traditional and contemporary styles. Urshel opened his own gallery called; The Owl Ear Gallery in Tucson, Arizona.
